If one looks at the directory structure on the hard drive, The Sony application will have made a subdirectory for each named artist.as found from the CD, then it will have a sub sub directory for each album, this probably also contains the pointer to the artwork image. Earlier I had it picking up from iTunes etc and everytime it resynchronized,it made a duplicate copy. And this is achieved by ensuring that the music library only accepts from one location.the designated hard drive. The only problem I had was making sure that there was one and only one copy of a song. When I want to change the songs on the NWA, I plug it in with its special cable, the Sony App recognises it ,recognises all the songs and albums on the player and allows me to remove ,replace, and modify them. The Sony App is running, and that arrangement allows me to stream through the home network to TVs etc. In my case the entire music library sits on a laptop and it's usb hard disk. It seems to me that you are making work for yourself.

Even better, when I use the DNLA services on the TV or the Upnp application to send the music to chromecast, or play it through the TV AVR it knows to send the album cover picture along with it. , if you use the Sony App on the PC, it will pickup the artwork from a website called gracenotes and store it along with the other information. Nearly there.Īgain I wonder why you are using that method.

If anybody can answer how I might accomplish that I can put up with the extra faff to see my folders displayed as I wish. Neither does it pick up a picture (folder.jpg) sitting within the main folder as a display.

I had hoped that it would pick up the first album picture (folder.jpg). no picture displayed in the main structure. So that should fix my initial issue apart from. This, by a small sample test, shown to nearly work as I desire. I will then, instead of syncing, I will directly copy and paste directly to the MUSIC folder on the device. I am at this very moment removing from the NW-A45 all folders. MM appears to take that apart and turn back into folders per album ignoring the grouping. As in each artist has it's own main folder with the individual albums within sub folders inside. I'm finding that having loaded it to the NW-A45 via Media Monkey the folder structure has been 'de-constructed' so to speak. The library is basically copied and pasted and displays as I want in the iPod. Although Media Monkey does tag I use mp3tag and compilations are as you describe. A very 'first world problem' I know but it is a tad irritating having to scroll as it is now when used to a better option.Ĭlick to expand.I'm checking through the tagging now and finding no fault. I don't know but I very much hope that somebody here does and is able to help me out. It's entirely possible I'm doing something wrong in MM and that's where my problem lies. I used to use iTunes to sync the iPod but that isn't capable of coping with my FLAC files so instead I have recently started to use Media Monkey. It's very possible, being as I'm old and not ever so tech savvy, that I'm missing something very simple as it seems such an obvious and intuitive way for folders and files to be displayed. Is it at all possible to accomplish this with the NW-A45? Because this is probably my only issue with it in the short time I've owned it. On the iPod there would be a single entry for an artist/band which when tapped would then reveal the content listed for that entry. I have to swipe/scroll through all 15 individual AC/DC albums before arriving at the 15 Black Sabbath albums and so on down the list. I have 15 albums by AC/DC and 15 by Black Sabbath.

If I have multiple albums by artists on the Sony it appears I have to swipe/scroll through all to get to the next artist. Purchased a Sony NW-A45 to replace an ageing iPod 5th Gen Touch.
